Electronic Thermostat · Sealed Oil Column

Digital Oil Filled Radiator Electronic Control

A digital oil filled radiator replaces the mechanical dial with an electronic thermostat: set a target temperature to the degree, read it on the display, and let the control board hold it instead of relying on a bimetallic dial.

Electronic control is specified most often for retail programmes where the carton needs a visible temperature readout, and for markets where buyers compare the accuracy of the thermostat rather than the wattage. It changes only the control interface — the sealed column, the three heat settings, the triple overheat protection and the tip-over switch are the same engineering package used across the whole oil filled range.

How It Differs

Digital vs Mechanical Thermostat

Both versions use the same column. The difference is how the target temperature is set, read and held.

Set point

Mechanical: a numbered dial in approximate steps. Digital: a temperature set to the degree on the control panel.

Readout

Mechanical: no display. Digital: a lit readout showing the target and, on most boards, the current room temperature.

Holding temperature

Mechanical: bimetallic strip with a wider switching band. Digital: electronic sensing with a narrower band, so the room swings less between on and off.

Where Digital Control Sits in the Range

A strong product family does not put every feature on every model. The usual ladder runs mechanical → timer → digital → remote or Wi-Fi, and each step gives a retailer a clearer reason to trade a customer up without changing the basic heating platform.

Mechanical models pair a thermostat dial with two or three heat levels — easy to understand and economical to produce. Timer models add scheduling, either mechanical 24 hour or electronic, at a moderate step-up. A digital oil-filled radiator adds an LED or LCD display, electronic thermostat, room-temperature setting, timer and ECO mode; remote control is the next convenience step.

Before approving a digital model, test the interface with the final display language and user manual: readability, button logic and behaviour after a power interruption are the details that generate returns. Wi-Fi and wall-mounted formats are not part of the current 45-model catalogue and are handled as development projects on request.

FAQ

Digital Oil Filled Radiators — Common Questions

What is a digital oil filled radiator?

An oil filled radiator whose thermostat is electronic rather than mechanical: the target temperature is set and displayed digitally, and the control board holds it within a narrower switching band than a bimetallic dial.

Which models have a digital thermostat?

FS-B5-D and the FS-VR / FS-UR / FS-QR, listed above, are the models in current production with electronic thermostat control. FS-B5-D is built in 7, 9, 11 and 13 fin versions from 1,500 W to 2,500 W; the FS series is built in 9, 11 and 13 fin versions from 2,000 W to 2,500 W.

Does a digital thermostat reduce running cost?

It holds the set temperature more tightly, so the element spends less time overshooting. The wattage rating still sets maximum consumption — fin count and control type do not change it.

Can other series in the range be supplied with digital control?

Send us the series, wattage and market you need. Control options are confirmed per series and per certification route, and our engineering team will confirm availability before quoting.

Need a Digital Thermostat Quotation?

Send the fin count, target wattage, market and quantity — we reply within 24 hours with pricing and the confirmation of available control options.
