The FS1 is a 2000W freestanding electric panel heater that does the one job a convector should do well: heat a room evenly, silently and without fuss. There is no fan to force air around and no digital display to configure — just a power selector and a thermostat dial. Warm air leaves the top grille and cooler air is drawn in underneath, so the temperature in the room evens out over time instead of stacking up near the heater.

That absence of a fan is why offices and bedrooms tend to prefer a convector: it can run under a desk or beside a bed all day or all night without making a sound, and it will not blow paper around or dry out the air. The slim flat panel takes up very little floor space, and the metal housing stands up to daily use.
