The FS-18 is a portable room heater with an adjustable thermostat, running up to 2000W with a lower setting for milder weather. It uses a conventional heating element with a fan, so heat arrives within seconds of switching on — the trade being a small amount of fan noise in exchange for speed. For a bedroom, a study or a small living room that is usually the right trade.

A conventional element and fan is a mature, well-understood construction, and the FS-18 is built around it rather than around novelty. Heat arrives within seconds, two power settings cover mild and cold weather, and the thermostat takes over once the room reaches temperature. The trade against a ceramic unit is a little more fan noise for a lower unit cost.
