The FS50-19A is a 50kW direct-fired diesel and kerosene heater from our 10kW to 190kW forced-air range. It burns diesel or kerosene in a 441-grade stainless steel combustion chamber rated to 1000°C and blows the heated air straight into the working area through a high-power enclosed fan, so heat arrives within seconds of ignition. Direct-fired units raise the incoming air temperature by 40–60°C and are intended for well-ventilated sites with an air change rate high enough to carry the combustion products away — construction and renovation work, workshops, warehouses, barns, factories, dock yards and rail or road works. The FS50-19A is a 50 kW direct-fired diesel heater, the reference size for general industrial space heating — a factory bay, a distribution warehouse, a large workshop or a maintenance hall where a smaller unit would run flat out and still not reach temperature.
Electrical demand is unusually low for the heat delivered: the supply is used only for the fan, the ignition and the fuel pump, around 0.4 to 0.5 kWh per hour, with everything else coming from the fuel. That is the reason a diesel heater of this size is far cheaper to run than an equivalent electric unit wherever a three-phase supply is limited. The 441-grade stainless steel combustion chamber is rated to 1000 degrees C. Five protections are fitted — overheat cut-off, heat-dissipation protection, flameout protection, shutdown protection and an error indicator light — and the space must be well ventilated because the unit is direct-fired. Fuel must be diesel or kerosene only.
