Halogen Heaters -- 4 Models

A halogen heater uses halogen quartz tubes as infrared emitters. A halogen lamp consists of a tungsten filament sealed in a compact transparent envelope filled with an inert gas and a small amount of a halogen such as iodine or bromine. The halogen cycle redeposits evaporated tungsten onto the filament, extending its life and keeping the envelope clear.

Because the filament can run hotter than a standard incandescent lamp of similar power, halogen emitters reach working temperature within seconds and deliver heat almost immediately. The energy is transferred as infrared radiation rather than by heating the air, so people and objects in the beam are warmed directly. This makes halogen heaters silent and effective for spot heating.

Why Choose

Three Things That Make These Heaters Different

One-second heat

Halogen tubes give radiant warmth the moment you switch them on.

Tip-over and overheat cut-off

Safety mesh and dual cut-off built into every model.

Lightweight portable body

Carry handle and slim tower body -- heat where you sit, anywhere.

Halogen vs Quartz

Why Choose a Halogen Heater?

A halogen heater is a quartz-halogen lamp pointed at a room. The halogen cycle lets the tungsten filament run hotter than a plain element, so it reaches full output in one to three seconds and throws a hard, bright beam of near infrared exactly where you aim it.

Six reasons halogen keeps selling

Full output in 1–3 seconds

Short-wave halogen elements reach working temperature in one to three seconds — the fastest warm-up of any heater on this page.

A hard, directional beam

High-intensity near infrared delivers almost all of its energy to whatever sits in front of it, so a low-wattage unit still feels effective.

Higher filament efficiency

The halogen cycle redeposits evaporated tungsten back onto the filament, allowing a higher filament temperature and better luminous efficacy than a plain incandescent element.

Lowest entry price

Halogen units are the cheapest radiant heaters to buy, which is why they remain the default first heater in many markets.

Silent, no moving parts

There is no fan and no motor — just a tube, a reflector and a switch.

Light enough to move one-handed

Tower models weigh around 2.2 kg and often oscillate, so a single unit can serve a desk, a bathroom and a hallway.

Where it honestly loses

The glow rules out bedrooms

A halogen tube throws a bright orange-white light. Reviewers consistently flag the glare as the reason not to use one where somebody is trying to sleep.

Shorter element life, hot to the touch

Halogen elements typically last 1,000–5,000 hours against 2,000–8,000 for quartz, the glass envelope is fragile, and the tube runs hot enough to burn — the CPSC attributes roughly 6,000 emergency-room visits a year to contact with heater surfaces.

So which one should you choose?

Choose a halogen heater if…

  • You want to feel heat within a second or two of switching on
  • The heater is for a personal space — a desk, a bathroom, a chair
  • The unit will only run for short bursts, so element hours are not the constraint
  • Entry price matters more than running cost

Choose a quartz heater if…

  • The heater will run for long stretches and element life matters
  • Bright visible light would be a nuisance or a distraction
  • You are heating a work zone rather than one person
  • You want the same radiant effect without the glare

What that means for your order book

Halogen and quartz are sold side by side and rarely compete on the same shelf position: halogen takes the volume end of the radiant category, quartz the value-added end. Buyers who order halogen in container quantities are usually serving first-time buyers, seasonal promotions and household budgets, so the specification decisions that matter are tube robustness, tip-over switch reliability and packaging that survives a marketplace warehouse. Our halogen line covers four models, with the CE / LVD / EMC / RoHS / ERP marks and OEM colour, logo and packaging from 30 to 45 days.

Element life, infrared band and luminous efficacy figures follow the Wikipedia entry on halogen lamps, published halogen and quartz tube specifications from Superior Radiant and Heater Factory, and heater burn-injury data reported by Consumer Reports from CPSC statistics. Confirm the specification of the exact model before quoting.
