The FS801 is a 2000W fan heater with three wind modes — cool, warm and hot — which effectively makes it two appliances in one. In winter the 1000W and 2000W settings warm a room quickly; in summer the cool setting provides air circulation. The adjustable thermostat holds the temperature once it is reached, and overheat protection shuts the unit down automatically if anything restricts the airflow.

Three wind modes at 2000W, plus a thermostat, covers most domestic needs without adding features that confuse a buyer standing in a shop. The overheat cut-out protects against the specific case of a blocked inlet, which is the usual cause of fan-heater failures in service.
