Panel Oil Heaters -- 6 Models

A panel heater is a type of electric convection heater commonly used for heating rooms in residential and small commercial settings. Panel heaters are typically used as a complement to another primary or central heating system, and are usually fitted with time and temperature controls.

They are often mistaken for electric radiators, which use radiant heating and transfer heat directly to objects rather than using the air as a medium. A panel heater works by convection instead: the sealed body heats up and air passing over its surface warms and rises naturally, circulating through the room without a fan. This makes the heater silent in operation, and the slim flat casing allows it to be mounted close to a wall.

Panel Oil vs Dry Panel

Why Choose a Panel Oil Heater?

A panel oil heater does the same job as a finned oil radiator, but inside a flat, sealed steel face. The oil still stores the heat, the surface is still uniform, and the whole thing is slim enough to hang on a wall.

Six reasons panel oil holds the premium shelf

Warm long after the power cuts

The sealed oil keeps releasing stored heat for 20–40 minutes after switch-off, so the room does not go cold the moment the thermostat opens.

A gentler surface than exposed fins

Manufacturers quote a maximum panel face of about 80°C, against 60–90°C on the fins of a conventional oil-filled radiator.

An even temperature across the whole face

Because the oil circulates inside a flat steel panel, the entire surface runs at a uniform temperature rather than showing hot spots along the fins.

Thin enough to wall-mount

A flat panel can be bracketed to the wall and takes almost no floor space, and splash-rated versions are available for bathrooms.

Accurate electronic control

Electronic thermostats hold the set point more closely than a basic convector, which is why panel oil units are specified for continuous background heat.

Sealed for the life of the unit

The oil is never topped up and never replaced. The slow warm-up is the price of an appliance designed to run season after season rather than for one winter.

Where it honestly loses

It is slow to warm the room

Expect 10–20 minutes before it feels warm, and closer to 30 minutes to reach full output. That thermal inertia rules out short bursts of heat — it is a background heater, not a boost heater.

Heavy for its footprint

Filled panel units typically weigh 8–15 kg, and the largest panels reach 10–24 kg — a two-person lift if it is going upstairs.

So which one should you choose?

Choose a panel oil heater if…

  • You want continuous background heat rather than a boost
  • The room has to sit at a steady temperature overnight
  • The panel face has to be safe to brush past
  • Floor space is tight and the unit can go on the wall

Choose a dry convector or panel if…

  • You need the room warm within five minutes
  • The heater gets moved between rooms often
  • You want the cheapest possible unit for occasional use
  • Weight is a problem for whoever has to lift it

What that means for your order book

Panel oil sits above the dry convector in every market we ship to, and the buyers know exactly why: a flat face that stays under 80°C, a wall bracket instead of a floor footprint, and a room that is still warm half an hour after the thermostat opens. That combination is what hotel refurbishment, serviced apartments, bathroom heating and premium retail orders are actually buying. Our panel oil line covers six models, with the CE / LVD / EMC / RoHS / ERP marks and OEM colour, logo and packaging from 30 to 45 days.

Panel and fin surface temperatures, weights and residual-heat figures follow published oil-filled panel radiator specifications from Sinus Jevi and Atria, with sizing guidance at roughly 100 W/m² for supplementary heating. Confirm the specification of the exact model before quoting.
