Quartz Infrared Heater 32 Infrared Models, No Warm-Up
A quartz infrared heater emits infrared radiation from a quartz tube. All 32 models in our quartz range work this way — the element is a quartz tube, and infrared is what it puts out. The radiation is absorbed by the surfaces and people it reaches, which is why the warmth is felt at once rather than after the air has been heated.
The practical consequences are what buyers specify infrared for. There is no warm-up: a quartz tube reaches its working temperature in about a second, so the heater does not need to be left running to be useful. There is no fan, so there is no noise and no airflow to lift dust — on this range only the FS-62 adds a turbo fan, and that is for air circulation rather than for the heating itself. And there is no oil or water jacket, so the body stays light: the models here run from 1.20 kg to 7.50 kg where a net weight is published.
Infrared output across the range runs 400 W to 2,400 W over 3 to 6 quartz tubes, with 5 six-tube models at the top and giftboxes from 538 × 125 × 140 mm to 705 × 225 × 490 mm. 27 of the 32 carry a tip-over switch. For an application where heat has to be felt immediately and the unit has to stay silent, specify from this group.

Why Buyers Specify Infrared
Infrared is chosen for the three properties a convection heater does not have.
Heat that arrives immediately
No element mass and no warm-up period. The tube is at working temperature about a second after switch-on, which suits rooms that are used intermittently.
Silent operation
There is no blower on any model here except the FS-62, whose turbo fan is for air circulation rather than for the heating. Nothing to wear, nothing to clog, no noise.
Light and easy to place
No oil jacket and no water jacket, so a 3 to 6 tube body weighs a fraction of an equivalent oil-filled radiator. Where a net weight is published the range runs 1.20 kg to 7.50 kg.

What is a quartz infrared heater?
A heater whose element is a quartz tube that emits infrared radiation. All 32 models in our quartz range are of this type; the tube radiates, a reflector directs the radiation forward, and the surfaces in front of it are warmed directly.
Is infrared heat safe?
Quartz infrared heaters are ordinary domestic appliances and have been sold for decades. They are used for space heating and are safe when the recommended clearance is kept and the unit is not covered. 27 of the 32 models here carry a tip-over safety switch.
Do infrared heaters heat the whole room?
They heat what the radiation lands on — people, furniture, walls, floor — and those surfaces warm the air by contact. The result feels immediate at close range and is less even than a convector at the far end of a large room.
How long do quartz tubes last?
Quartz tubes are a serviceable part and are replaceable. Life depends on duty cycle and on how the unit is used; send us the duty cycle you are specifying and we will confirm the build and the spares arrangement.
Is an infrared heater the same as a radiant heater?
